Admissions for intermediate studies at colleges
Admissions for intermediate studies at colleges across the province opened on Monday.
Students can visit colleges to submit their applications or go online to the Online College Admissions System (OCAS) which manages admissions for 600 public colleges in the Punjab. The OCAS handles admissions to FA, FSc and ICS programmes. The last date to submit application forms at most colleges is August 3. August 15 is the deadline for some and a few colleges are yet to announce a deadline.
The Government College University (GCU), Lahore, has invited applications for pre-engineering, pre-medical, general science, computer science, arts and humanities and commerce programmes. Candidates can submit their admission applications online on the varsity’s website. The last date to submit applications is August 3. The GCU will display merit lists on August 6 and 7.
The Kinnaird College for Women has also announced opening admissions to pre-medical, pre-engineering, ICom, humanities, general science, ICS, physics and statistics programmes. Admission forms are available till July 28 and the last date to submit applications is August 5.
Over 70 per cent students have passed the secondary school certificate exam (SSC), results of which were announced by the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Saturday. A total 135,336 students passed the SSC examination and will be looking to apply to colleges.
