Multan: Protest demonstrations and candlelight vigil held in city universities including BZU, Govt Emerson College Multan, Govt. Millat Islamia College Multan & Govt. Alamdar Islamia College Multan for the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar attack which claimed death of 140 people including 134 innocent children.
A large number of students and teaching staff join this walk.
The participants were holding banners, posters and placards condemning the brutal attack. Addressing the participants, Principal of Govt Emerson College Multan Prof. Naimat Ul Haq said that terrorists could not bring down morale of the nation through such cowardly attacks. He said that the incident had united the nation and the whole nation was standing behind Pakistan Army and rulers against the terrorists. He said that terrorism must be completely eliminated to ensure peace in the country. He said that the attack was totally against the principles of Islam and international laws according to which attack on children, women and senior citizens was strictly prohibited. He said that the whole nation shared the grief of the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with them. The rally concluded outside IT Center with prayers for martyrs, their families and elimination of terrorists from the country. Earlier, a two-minute silence was observed in all the academic departments of the college to express solidarity with the victims and Fateha was offered for the departed souls.
Govt. Alamdar Islamia College, Multan also organised a protest rally against the brutal attack on Army Public School Peshawar. Professors led the rally which started from Dolat Gate and ended at Ghanta Ghar Chok. A large number of students participated in the rally.
Students wore black bands on their arms to condemn the brutal attack and held banner and placards during the rally. Talking to the participants of the rally, Dr Noshina Saleem condemned the cowardly attack and said that such attack could not deter the Pakistani nation. She said every citizen of Pakistan was standing with the Pakistani Army in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, a special prayer ceremony was held for the Peshawar martyrs and their families at the Institute of Communication Studies.
A meeting of faculty, staff and students was held at Hall of Govt Emerson College, Multan regarding the incident of Peshawar. Principal Prof. Naimat Ul Haq said that “We condemned this cruel action by the terrorists and all Pakistani Nation are with the families of Shaheed students and teachers”.
Prof. Naimat Ul Haq asked to the students to convey the message of peace all over the world through their paintings and writings.
