HEC formula for academic grading to be implemented soon

Higher Education Commission (HEC) formula for academic grading would be implemented to facilitate the students pursuing their careers in different disciplines.

It was agreed in a meeting that GPA/CGPA formula of Higher Education Commission will be applied for all MSc, Mphil and PhD programmes, where pass percentage is 50 percent. This will be in addition to the GPA/CGPA system already approved by the Allama Iqbal Open University’s Executive Council for all four years bachelor programmes. AIOU Dr Shahid Siddiqui wanted to achieve progress in all disciplines available in the university for the students, particularly the students living in remote and far-flung areas, official of a university said.

The academic council of the university had also decided that the proposed system, where pass percentage is 50 percent, will come into force with immediate effect, the sources added.
