Good News for Position Holders
LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that alumni of position holder students from matric to intermediate since 2009 to date getting scholarships and cash prizes will be set up.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting in connection with preparations of proposed ceremony in the honor of position holders this year. Representatives of Higher Education Department, Information, Police and Lahore Board attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed in detail the preparations of ceremony to be held in honor of the students obtaining prominent position in Matric and Intermediate examinations this year.
The minister issued instructions to the representatives of concerned departments regarding boarding, lodging and transport for the students and their parents attending the ceremony.
He said that special steps should be taken regarding security of the children, He issued directions that Vice Chancellors of private universities and members of board of governors of Lahore Knowledge Park should also be invited.
Rana Mashhood said that as position holders and their parents are coming from all over Punjab to participate the function, therefore, safe parking should be provided to their transport near the ceremony. The meeting also reviewed preparations regarding awarding guard of honor to the children during ceremony.
The minister said that prizes will also be given to position holders of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. He said that Education Ministers of all the four provinces will be especially invited in the function this year.
PEF partnership schedule:
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has announced the partnership agreements’ signing schedule for the private schools selected for partnership with its Education Voucher Scheme (EVS). These schools were selected during expansion phase 15 of the Education Voucher Scheme.According to the schedule, agreements will be signed with new school partners from Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Jhang and Khushab at Children’s Library Complex, Lahore on January 12 & 13.
Meanwhile, partnership agreements with selected private schools from the districts of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Rajanpur, Khanewal and Muzaffargarh will be signed at PEF Regional Office, Multan from January 12 to 16. The school owners are directed to turn up with all the required documents for signing partnership agreements.
Under this scheme, deserving students are issued vouchers by the foundation to study free of cost in PEF partner schools of choice in their areas.
PU’s research journal upgraded: Punjab University Department of Urdu’s research journal “Bazyaft” has been upgraded from “Z” category to “Y” category by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). “Bazyaft” is the fourth journal of Urdu language and literature which has been included in Y category and being published for promotion of research in national language since 14 years. PU Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated the department on this achievement.
ADMISSION SCHEDULE: Punjab University Examinations Department has notified that the last date for receipt of admission form and fee of BS (4-Years Programme) 1st, 3rd & 5th semester 2016.
According to details date last date for receipt of admission form and fee of first semester examination 2016 of BS (4-Years Programme) will be January 25, 2016 while the last date for receipt of admission form and fee of third and fifth semesters examination 2016 of BS (4-Years Programme) will be March 4, 2016. The date of commencement for said exams will be announced later. Detailed schedule is also available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.
