District Government announces local holiday in Multan

District Government announces local holiday on 8th Nov 2016 in Multan on account of Urs of Hazrat Bahaudin Zakriya.

Notification has been issued in this regard.

The government has announced a local holiday to mark the urs. A mehfil-i-naat will mark the closing of the urs today.

Thousands of pilgrims are in the city to attend the urs. Police have been deployed at all routes leading to the shrine, which has been closed for traffic for the three days of urs. Visitors are being frisked and walkthrough gates have been placed at all entrances.

The urs will start on Monday with bathing of the tomb in rose water and chaddar poshi.

The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The bathing and chaddar poshi will be followed by collective prayers at the tomb.
